Thermal Imaging
A thermal image camera is a tool and a very expensive one but it is only as good as as the interpretation by the inspector.
Without thermal imaging, somethings go unseen. Now you can see what others miss with just a visual inspection. Thermal images can help reveal problems about moisture (which may be conducive to mold and decay), electrical system hot spots, deficient insulation, heat/air conditioning and duct system, structural issues, plumbing leaks, and more.
Thermal imaging detects surface temperature. It is not a x-ray, it cannot see through walls.
Once the inspector finds an anomaly it is identified as an area for further investigation. Could it be moisture or is it poor insulation. This is where you need a professional inspector to find the cause.
Our inspectors know and understand buildings, how they are constructed, how to investigate the area and what could be the cause. Use of the camera alone will not tell you the reason. Only that it has a surface temperature difference. It is the knowledge and expertise that the inspector has that will determine the outcome.
Our extended inspections include thermal imaging and a depressurisation of the building to find energy deficiencies and moisture.
